Description
REAC Inspections have changed, with NSPIRE. Are you ready?
HUD’s Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) has been working on updating and improving its physical inspection model, which is now over 20 years old. The new model, the National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE), replaces the Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS) as well as the Housing Quality Standards (HQS), aligning inspection standards across all HUD-assisted properties, as directed by Congress. NSPIRE prioritizes health, safety, and functional defects over appearance, focusing on the areas that impact residents most, their units.
Find out what you need to know to transition from UPCS and HQS to NSPIRE in 2024. Understanding NSPIRE will highlight the many changes that will impact PHAs, Owners, and Agents (POAs) of federally assisted housing properties.
In this three-hour webinar, NCHM’s Vice President of Client Programs, Trevor Brandl will review:
- The updated inspection process and follow-up requirements.
- The Inspectable Areas, Standards, and Deficiencies
- The NSPIRE Scoring Model
- New Affirmative Habatibility Requirements
- Follow-up and Appeals Process
Don’t miss this opportunity to get ahead of the curve on this innovative change to HUD’s inspection process.
